The RBH Emergency Department plays a pivotal role in the RBH health care system. It is the only hospital in Rajasthan to have a team of specialized senior doctors in Emergency department who are present, round the clock.
Emergency Department at RBH has a dedicated team of physicians, nurses and other health professionals who extend the best of professional care along with compassion to every patient. The well-organized Department with 12 beds, is equipped with rooms for decontamination, isolation and procedures, all fitted with the latest and sophisticated life-saving equipments, like multipara monitors, ventilators BIPAP, ABG Machine etc. RBH Emergency Department specializes in providing immediate medical attention to patients arriving with acute illnesses and injuries.
The dedicated resuscitation bay has all the life-saving drugs and equipment for adult and pediatric patients. The medical team in the bay has experts trained in resuscitative measures and protocols and are certified by AHA (American Heart Association).
Patients with serious multiple injuries, often a result of a road accident or a fall or some natural disaster are initially handled in the Emergency Department. The services range from x-rays and setting of broken bones to a full-scale trauma treatment. It is established that a patient’s chance of survival is greatly improved if definitive treatment (i.e. surgery or re-perfusion) is provided within one hour (called the Golden Hour) of the incident.
This is possible at RBH because of well laid protocols and the close working relationship and coordination between the Department of Emergency Medicine and the other Departments at RBH. In appreciation of its excellent service in treating minor lacerations and sprains to major multi-system trauma including shock and massive bleed, RBH Department of Emergency has won several recognitions.
Cardiac And Pulmonary Emergency Care
During a cardiac or pulmonary emergency, quick thinking and fast treatment are vital for recovery. At RBH, time is on your side. Reacting quickly and with compassion, the physicians and staff provide appropriate emergency care and treatment.
All Emergency Department physicians and nurses have received extensive training in critical cardiac and pulmonary care and work in tandem with the respective Specialists for timely diagnosis and intervention. When required immediate round the clock access is available to interventional cardiologists and the cardiac cath lab.
In fact, acute neurological illness is one of the most common causes for admission in emergency. We are a recognized primary stroke centre in the city and are known for not just emergency care but also for our focus on treating for long term positive outcomes in stroke patients.
The concept of “Golden hour” also applies in neurological emergencies (time is brain). For example, a stroke caused by a blood clot in the artery of brain can only be opened if the patient presents within 4.5 hours of the event. We, at RBH have an advanced neurology and neurosurgery department equipped with all life-saving technologies and facilities under one roof. The Center treats simple and complex vascular disorders by incorporating recent developments in emergency medicine and neurosciences. The Emergency team works in co-ordination with the radiology and neurology departments for quick imaging (24 hr access to CT, MRI and other imaging) and early intervention with relevant neurology consultations, since time is of the essence. In addition to strokes, the center also handles severe headache, seizures (fits), loss of consciousness, etc.
