The Department of Pharmacology at RBH is unique and first of its kind in Rajasthan. The department prepares and updates drug formulary to ensure availability of efficacious, safe and cost-effective medicines in out-patient and in-patient pharmacy.
The department is involved in updating of medication management policies as per current national and international standards. It also looks into the prescription review to ensure rational use of drugs. The department provides resourceful and rational inputs to all queries from health care providers related to proper dose/route/ frequency of drugs, drug use, storage, stability, overdoses of drugs, drug action, drug kinetics, drug interactions and other medication-related issues to ensure drug safety. We lay utmost emphasis on pharmacovigilance to observe adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and trend analysis.
The department of pharmacology pledges to be the antibiotic guardian by running ‘antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) program’ to overcome antibiotic resistance by promoting minimal and rational use of antibiotics.
