CK Birla Hospitals, RBH in a step towards academic excellence organised a comprehensive one day CME cum workshop on sepsis on 29th September 2019. As we are celebrating World sepsis day on 13th September every year, to take one step ahead we celebrated the whole month to create awareness about this enigmatic disease. Department of pulmonary & critical care medicine at CK Birla Hospitals, RBH conducted successfully a certified course for physicians, young intensivists and general practitioners on sepsis, named Basic Sepsis Life Support (BSLS) course. This course was done first time in Rajasthan. Around 70 delegates have joined this course from various parts of the state including Jaipur and outside. To get the best of it, delegates interacted with national faculties Dr. Vishakh Varma from New Delhi, Dr. Arindam Kar from Kolkata. Dr. Arindam Kar is the Director of critical care medicine at CMRI, Kolkata, and founder of the BSLS course. Experts in the field of critical care medicine i.e. Dr. Shabbar Joad, Dr. Rakesh Modi, Dr. Ashish Jain, Dr. Kishore Mangal, Dr. Geetesh Mangal, Dr. Rakesh Godara, Dr. Arun Sharma, Dr. Chetan Prakash and senior microbiologist Dr. Smita Sood were also contributed. Delegates received 2 CME credit hours from Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC) for the same. This course will make them competent in identification, diagnosis and management including early resuscitation of patients with sepsis and septic shock. This course was organised and successfully completed under the guidance of Dr. Rakesh Godara (Pulmonary, critical care & sleep medicine specialist, Interventional Pulmonologist ) and Dr. Arun Sharma (senior intensivist ) at CK Birla Hospitals, RBH, Jaipur.
